|
1. Job purpose:
|
To support the delivery of a professional and engaging matchday experience at Ewood Park by operating the stadium scoreboard accurately and effectively. The post holder will be responsible for displaying live match information and approved content at the correct times, working closely with the Marketing team and other matchday colleagues. The role requires concentration, accuracy and the ability to respond calmly to a fast-moving live environment.

2. Duties and responsibilities
|
Safeguarding:
- To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all stakeholders, promoting their well-being whilst maintaining professional boundaries;
Scoreboard Operation:
- Operate the stadium scoreboard system for home first-team matches and other fixtures or events as required.
- Display accurate and timely match information, including team line-ups, score updates, match clock information, substitutions, disciplinary information and other approved match data as directed.
- Play and display scheduled graphics, animations, videos, sponsor content and supporter messaging in line with the agreed matchday running order.
- Respond promptly to changes during live play and ensure information shown on screen is accurate before it is published.
Matchday Preparation:
- Arrive in sufficient time before each fixture to prepare, log in to and test the scoreboard system.
- Check that all required matchday assets and information have been supplied and loaded correctly before use.
- Raise any technical issues immediately with the appropriate matchday or technical contact and follow agreed contingency procedures where required.
Matchday Teamwork:
- Work closely with the Marketing team, PA announcer, matchday production colleagues and other relevant staff to ensure scoreboard content is coordinated with the wider matchday presentation.
- Follow the agreed running order and any instructions issued by the Head of Marketing or designated matchday lead.
- Maintain clear communication and remain calm and professional in a live, time-sensitive environment.
General:
- Represent Blackburn Rovers in a professional manner and comply with club policies, procedures and brand standards.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties relevant to the role as required.

3. Skills required:
|
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Ability to enter and display information accurately, including under time pressure.
IT Confidence: Comfortable using computer-based systems and able to learn specialist scoreboard software quickly.
Concentration: Ability to maintain focus throughout a live sporting event and react quickly to events on the pitch.
Communication: Clear and confident communicator who can take direction and work effectively with matchday colleagues.
Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with the flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with the fixture schedule.
Team Player: Able to work collaboratively as part of a wider matchday team while taking ownership of the scoreboard operation.

4. Knowledge / experience required:
|
- Experience using IT systems confidently and accurately.
- Experience working in a live event, sports, broadcast, production or similar time-sensitive environment is desirable.
- An understanding of football and the information required during a match is desirable.
- Previous experience of operating a scoreboard, screen, presentation or event-control system is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team.
