The Person:
- Can evidence a portfolio of work, demonstrating an ability to work with performance analysis software to build, maintain and display output that enhances analysis and player recruitment.
- Excellent understanding of performance analysis including the ability to quickly pick up a playing philosophy, and the technical / tactical analysis of teams and individuals.
- Experience working with event data to pull relevant information for our coaching staff and players (pre- and post-match).
- Expert knowledge of video editing and telestration of footage.
- Extremely organised and methodical, able to work to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to communicate complex data to a variety of audiences and implement a variety of feedback techniques.
You will have experience of performance analysis in a sporting environment, particularly supporting both coaching and recruitment staff. You will be able to effectively collaborate with other department members to ensure that the analysis undertaken is thorough and detailed, whilst maintaining relevance and clarity when presenting your findings to key stakeholders.
With effective communication skills, your experience will include presenting information to key stakeholders in a variety of settings, enabling your work to provide maximum clarity. You will have a detailed understanding of how to interpret and utilise data, providing relevance and substance to aid the coaching process.
You will have detailed football knowledge and tactical understanding. In particular, you will have the ability to demonstrate how this can be applied in a practical setting, aligning to a specific club philosophy. You will have the ability to showcase your skills to prioritise workloads in a demanding environment whilst striving to produce work of the highest standard.
With a high level of computer competency, you will have extensive experience of using performance analysis and presentation-based software. You’ll also have experience of using a drone to film training.
You must be able to work all home and away fixtures. The role requires a high degree of flexibility throughout the week and as such you should be prepared to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis. Flexibility is key due to training and matches potentially changing at short notice.
You will need a full, clean driving licence.
The Essentials:
- Experience working within an elite playing environment
- A degree or similar qualification in Sports Science, Sport Studies, Coaching or Performance Analysis
- Level 2 FA Coaching qualification (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS Clearance
- FA Safeguarding qualification
- Valid safeguarding certificates
- Experience in undertaking health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post
The Club actively encourages Continuous Professional Development and would expect the successful candidate to ensure they are keeping updated with new theory and legislation, attend any necessary FA in-service training, and participate in a program of CPD across the Academy’s technical teams.
