About The Role

In our time outside of the Football League, the club has worked hard to develop multiple education partnerships that we are extremely proud of; The Talent Hub at Thirsk School and Football Development Centre Programme at York College. As part of York City FC’s progression to a Category 4 EFL Academy, the football club is now recruiting for an experienced, proactive and inspirational individual to pick up the oversight of these key education programmes as well as acting as Designated Safeguarding Officer for the boys academy and York City Women.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our Education Programmes at York College and Thirsk School and Sixth Form College, supporting staff with week to week operations as well as looking at opportunities to expand and develop progression within those partnerships. The successful candidate will also be a part of the Academy Management Team in their role as Academy DSO.

Main Purpose of Role:

Duties and Responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Maintain clear oversight of the clubs education partnerships including contracts, service level agreements and policies
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with coaching staff responsible for delivery of education programmes
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders from our education partners inclusive of Leadership, teaching staff and stakeholders connected to the programmes
  • Identify and explore opportunities to develop education programmes in both quality and scope
  • Actively explore the opportunity to open new Talent Hubs within the Yorkshire Region
  • Responsible for implementing robust safeguarding procedures for York City Women aligned with club policy
  • Be 1st point of contact for all safeguarding matters for York City Women and Boys Academy
  • Be a visible presence in these environments and build relationships with players, parents and staff

Social Conditions

The successful candidate will split their time across multiple environments including but not limited to LNER Community Stadium, York City Training Ground, Thirsk School and Sixth Form College and York College. Some off-site working will be necessary to carry out the duties of the post.

Economic Conditions

This is a full-time position with a salary of £28,000 p.a. The post holder is entitled to 20 days of annual leave per year, York City FC staff kit will be provided along with 1 x first team season ticket for personal use.

In addition, completion of The FA Introduction to First Aid and Safeguarding Children courses is mandatory for the role.
