About The Role

Job Purpose: To support the delivery of the Academy's comprehensive and innovative education programmes, ensuring full adherence to the requirements of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).

Role Accountabilities and Key Duties

Education Programmes (Full Time)

  1. To ensure that the Academy's educational provision is supported and reflects the strategy and performance targets set out in the Club's Academy Performance Plan.
  2. To deliver BTEC teaching for a Scholarship cohort (U17-U18).
  3. To ensure that all BTEC lessons are prepared meticulously, inclusive of all learners' needs and eradicating any barriers to learning.
  4. To ensure that all BTEC submissions are marked efficiently and appropriate feedback provided to support the on and off field development of each learner.
  5. To build an engaging and supportive classroom structure that enables all learners to flourish.
  6. To collaborate with the Education Manager (Academy) to update and inform parent/carers of each learner's progress.
  7. To complete LFE registers for the Academy Scholars.
  8. To promote a culture of lifelong learning at the Academy, and to support further learning programmes undertaken by players post Scholarship.

Education Programmes (Hybrid and Part Time)

  1. To lead on the tracking and monitoring processes for Schoolboy players in line with YD Rules 199 and 202.
  2. To conduct school visits across Academy age groups as required.
  3. To support the delivery of compensatory education sessions for Hybrid (Schoolboy Day Release) players.
  4. To collaborate with Lead Phase Coaches to ensure they have full awareness of the academic progress of their players.

Overall Environment Duties

  1. To provide committed support to the Academy's equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  2. To work closely with the Player Care Coordinator and Safeguarding Managers to support the Academy's commitment to the player/parent voice project.
  3. To maintain appropriate records; internal as required, and those required by external agencies and regulatory bodies.
  4. To attend meetings, conferences, and other associated events as directed by the Education Manager (Academy).
  5. To maintain and deliver effective classroom provision and to ensure that excellent standards are set in classroom management and player behaviour.
  6. To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
  7. Participate in the appraisal process.

Safeguarding

  1. To have an impeccable knowledge of safeguarding best practice to include a deep understanding of safeguarding children's regulations, including legislation and governing body rules.
  2. To act as an Academy Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) and to undertake the duties outlined in Appendix A (points 5-8) in EFL's YD Rules.
  3. To provide insightful contributions to monthly safeguarding meetings at the Academy.
  4. To ensure that any safeguarding or welfare concerns are reported efficiently.
  5. To comply with all company policies/procedures and adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health, safety, and security.
  6. All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position.

About The Candidate

Qualifications

  1. The Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or working towards. Essential.
  2. Teaching experience. Essential.
  3. Advanced DBS check. Essential.
  4. Current FA Safeguarding Certificate. Essential.
  5. FA EFAiF Certificate. Essential.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  1. An understanding of the Academy system and the professional football environment. Essential.
  2. IT skills to include a high level of competence using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint skills. Essential.
  3. Creative and engaging presentation skills. Essential.
  4. Excellent overall level of numeracy and literacy. Essential.
