Head of Academy Goalkeeping

Role Accountabilities & Key Duties

Player Development

1. To design age-appropriate goalkeeping curriculums in line with the Club's goalkeeping methodology.
2. To develop detailed individual profiles and learning plans for goalkeepers in the Professional Development Phase (U18 & Development Squad).
3. To provide goalkeepers in the Professional Development Phase with bespoke training sessions to meet their individual needs.
4. To regularly review training/match footage with Professional Development Phase goalkeepers and provide constructive analysis.
5. To provide goalkeeping training on Schoolboy evenings & weekend matchdays as directed by the Head of Goalkeeping.
6. To ensure that all relevant data/reports are entered onto the PMA & Club systems.

Coach Education

1. To provide line-management to Academy Goalkeeping Staff.
2. To conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
3. To promote a culture of innovation across the Goalkeeping Department, ensuring that regular research is conducted into new ways of working.
4. To attend and, as required, deliver Academy in-service events.
5. To undertake observations that support the individual Development Actions Plans (DAPs) of Academy Goalkeeping Staff.
6. To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.

Pathway Management

1. To closely monitor Academy goalkeepers on loan and undertake club visits/match observations as required.
2. Participate in the retain/release procedures for Academy goalkeepers across the phases.
3. To play a key role in the production of Academy-developed players ready for the First Team.
4. To provide insightful contributions towards the Club's succession planning meetings.

Safeguarding

1. To have or develop an impeccable knowledge of safeguarding best practice to include a deep understanding of safeguarding children's regulations, including legislation & governing body rules.
2. To ensure that any safeguarding or welfare concerns are reported efficiently.
3. To comply with all company policies/procedures and adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health, safety, and security.
4. All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position.
