Hours of work:
|
40 hours per week, plus an additional 175 additional hours per football season to be worked on days and at times agreed with your head of department. This will include evening and weekend work and call-out time.

|
1. Job purpose:
|
To provide and maintain an effective caretaker role across the two training facilities and residential lodge to maintain the upkeep of the facilities including general maintenance, safety checks and waste management.
|
|
2. Duties and responsibilities:
|
- To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all staff, customers and clients of the Club;
- To install, maintain and de-commission plumbing appliances when required;
- Attend to and repair leaks throughout the stadium and other BRFC sites;
- Unblock pipework throughout the sites when required;
- Maintain and repair trip hazards, fencing, potholes and brickwork;
- Maintain and repair signage, tiles, fire seals, gates, doors, locks and flooring;
- Clean and replace filters;
- Carry out paintwork both internally and externally as and when required;
- Complete daily maintenance check including toilets, changing rooms and communal areas;
- Liaise with the grounds team to ensure the external areas are kept clear and litter free.
- To provide adverse weather duties such as removing snow and de-icing around the grounds;
- Lock/unlock the buildings and areas in the mornings and evenings;
- Liaise with the maintenance team to provide support with electrical, gas and plumbing services;
- Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks;
- Organise and carry out various maintenance duties to ensure that the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises are of good standard.
- Carry out routine Health & Safety checks as required – e.g. legionella testing, fire alarms, emergency lighting etc.;
- Respond quickly and proactively manage faults, identify defects and maintenance requirements, and liaise with contractors where necessary;
- Respond to emergencies occurring outside normal working hours and
- Respond to call-outs as and when required;
- Work with the stadium maintenance team to ensure adequate matchday cover at Ewood Park; and
- Any other duties as reasonably assigned by the Operations Works Manager / Maintenance Supervisor from time to time.

3. Skills required:
|
- The ability to work to strict deadlines;
- Ability to work as an individual as well as part of a team;
- Competent in using the tools and equipment required for the job;
- Good organisation skills; and
- Safe use and inspection of ladders.
|
|
4. Knowledge required:
|
- Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and reporting procedures;
- General knowledge of electrical requirements and regulations; and
- Good knowledge of all general maintenance duties and tasks including painting, joinery, plumbing, patch plastering and tiling.

5. Qualifications required:
|
- Legionella Awareness
- Level 1 and 2 NVQ in general maintenance activities (equivalent or above); and
- Any other relevant maintenance qualifications
