Job Purpose
To provide Performance
Psychology services within the U9-U21 age range. To implement a research driven
curriculum that is delivered across the age groups, with clear transition and
links to preparing players for 1st team football.
Key Duties
One to One Support
- To
conduct regular one to ones with all FT players, with a clear focus on
transition from U17 within the full-time programme, as well as players
transitioning to 1st team football.
- To
ensure all FT players to receive individual support within the football season
- To
work towards agreed underpinning concepts and behaviours to prepare players
from a psychological perspective for a career
- RTP
Processes – Weekly Support with all mid/long term injured players as well as
IPRRS at appropriate time points. All touch points to be fed back to
appropriate staff. Medical to complete and feedback score
- Player
confidentiality to be always kept, unless relevant info is essential for key
stakeholders
Academy Curriculum
- Appropriate education delivered for all part time players/parents
(U9-16) linked to club wide qualities
- Full
Time Player Delivery to PDP Players (Programme Delivery in a varied way)
Staff CPD
- To help develop the clubs DNA and performance behaviours amongst the
academy, in line with our club wide core values
- To work closely with the Head of Integrated and the Head of Methodology
to provide both collective and individual psychological support to coaches, to
support the coaching delivery
- To ensure there are appropriate staff workshops delivered at regular
intervals
Objective Monitoring
- BRUMS to be completed by all PDP players on relevant days (All
performance staff to manage)
- Manage the BRUMS process is ensuring completion / non-compliance / data
is with correct personnel, as well as education around completion to ensure
correct data
- BRUMS results to be fed back same day to all performance / coaching staff
and escalated further
- Other objective questionnaires to be administered when appropriate and
on an individual basis, i.e. RTP IPRRS
