MORECAMBE FC – First Team Goalkeeper Coach
We are looking for a passionate First Team Goalkeeping Coach to lead the development and performance of our first-team goalkeepers. The successful candidate will design and implement specialised training programs, provide matchday support, and collaborate closely with the managerial and coaching team to ensure our goalkeepers perform at their highest level.
Purpose of the Role
Integral to the development of the first-team the role-holder will have overall responsibility for overseeing the Club goalkeepers together with the delivery and planning of all training and match-day sessions for the First Team.
Working with our first team management, Analyst and first team Physiotherapist(s) / medical staff.
Supporting the Academy Manager, Academy Head of Coaching and the Academy Professional Development Phase Coach for the provision and development of Academy players/age groups.
Availability (and travelling) will be required for the role-holder to attend all first team matches, including weekends and midweek fixtures, as applicable.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver structured goalkeeping coaching to Morecambe fc goalkeepers, including a comprehensive pre-season training programme, in preparation for competitive matches.
- Conduct pre-match warm-ups whilst offering in-game tactical insight.
- Responsible for the overall development of all goalkeepers at the Club, implementing individual performance plans at First Team and working with the First Team and Assistant Manager.
- In conjunction with the First Team Analyst, support the match day preparation and performance of the First team goalkeepers, including pre-match and post-match goalkeeping analysis.
- To assist the Academy Manager with the recruitment of Academy goalkeeping coaches.
- Supporting the Academy in developing / coaching for player development, as required.
- Provide individualised coaching and feedback to the First Team Goalkeepers.
- To comply with and follow company policies, implementing best practice at all times and completing the mandatory safeguarding, EDI and prevent training.
- Coaches are reasonable for the safety of participants and must communicate any safety concerns or injuries.
- Demonstrate a high level of player knowledge, with an ability to
apply this knowledge within the context of coaching and analysis.
- Able to work in a team environment and promote team culture.
