Location: Portsmouth FC Training Centre and various locations

Hours of work: Based on each game assignment

Reports to: Match Day Coordinator Supervisor

Remuneration : £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay)

Role summary

Portsmouth Football Club is looking to expand its Academy Match Day Operations Team and looking for individuals who is enthusiastic, flexible and provide support during our academy matchdays ensuring smooth operations. This role involves ensuring the safety and enhancing the match-day experience for home and away team players, staff, parents, and match officials across various venues in and around the city.

You will be part of a hardworking team that takes care of the spaces where memories are made — helping to ensure every corner of the club meets the highest standards. This isn’t just coordination and support— it is being part of the team that keeps Pompey ticking.

Your Key responsibilities will include:

  • To support and guide the home and away team players, staff, parents and match officials to the relevant area of the venue.
  • To coordinate orderly parking of coaches and cars on matchdays.
  • To look after changing rooms, match day pitch equipment (goals/ corner flags), assistance with general administration.
  • To support and manage visiting scouts.
  • Once all set up procedures are carried out, to then facilitate parents’ and visitors’ refreshments and support academy staff where necessary.

Guidance to consider

  • The role will be based at various match venues in and around Portsmouth; Having a driving licence and regular access to a vehicle is essential
  • Right to work in the UK must be held prior to applying
  • You must satisfy all DBS and Club Employment checks
  • FA safeguarding training must be concluded prior to commencing in the role
