About The Role

Doncaster Rovers Academy Sport Psychology Volunteering Opportunities

Are you aiming to pursue a career in Sport and Exercise Psychology? Do you want applied experience in an academy setting? Doncaster Rovers Football Club are offering multiple opportunities for trainee Sport and Exercise psychologists to support our Academy Sport Psychology provision. You will have the opportunity to deliver on the workshop programme, undertake 121, observe training, undertake group reflective session, observe matches and learn from a multidisciplinary team within their field of study, alongside providing experience of working in a professional environment.

What can you expect from volunteering with the Club?

As an Academy Sport Psychology Support Volunteer, your role will be to assist in the delivery of the 8 Pillars Psychology programme to the Foundation Phase (U9 – U12s) and Youth Development Phase (U13s - U16s) and Professional Development Phase (U17+)

  • This will predominantly involve design and delivering psychoeducational workshops to teams in line with the academies existing Psychology 8 Pillars syllabus.
  • Designing resources such as posters and blog posts to contribute to the education of the players and parents.
  • There may be the opportunity for individual player support as well (subject to training status).
  • Support the Pitch Presence programme of training observations during the evening delivery.
About The Candidate

What do we need from you?

• A keen interest in Sport Psychology

• Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and develop as a practitioner within elite sport

• Good footballing knowledge and/or experience of coaching

• Professional approach to all aspects of work; punctual, reliable, and diligent

Essential Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sport Psychology, Sport Science or related subject
  • MSc in Sport Psychology or related subject (or completing)
 
Desirable Qualifications:
Enrolled on a post graduate training route (QSEP or SEPAR) to become a qualified Sport and Exercise Psychologist with the HCPC.

Please note that on starting the role we will require a DBS check and the completion of safeguarding and inclusion modules.
