Job Title: Media & Administration Assistant
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer/Head of Communications
Based at: Rotherham United Football Club (RUFC) Ltd.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Media duties
- Covering first team matches home and away
- Covering reserve matches home (and away where possible)
- Writing, editing and proofing the match day programme
- Producing content for the official club website
- Producing content for the club’s social media channels
- Producing and editing content for the club’s iFollow Millers video service and YouTube channel
Administration duties
- Key support for Player Registrations tasks
- Organising and coordinating home reserve fixtures
- Liaise with the relevant bodies and staff to submit kit colours for each first team fixture
- Support on populating the FIFA Transfer Matching System in respect of International Transfers
PERSON SPECIFICATION
To be successful as a Media and Administration Assistant, you must have excellent time management skills. A good Media Assistant is eager to keep abreast of industry innovations and new software.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a desire to play an important role within both the media and administration departments of the football club.
They will thrive on their ability to meet tight deadlines in both areas and show ingenuity and efficacy in the way in which they operate on a day-to-day basis.
Media & Administration Assistant Requirements:
Essential
- A degree in media or journalism
- The ability to lead the media department when the Head of Communications
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Customer focus and friendly personality
- The ability to forge positive relationships with key stakeholders including members of the local media, club partners and supporters
- IT skills: Proficient in the use of all Microsoft software, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- With “Can do” attitude, with a willingness to learn and progress
- Excellent time management skills, ability to work to tight deadlines with good planning, organising and prioritising skills
- Possess an excellent telephone manner
- Be able to work well under your own initiative
- Driving Licence
Desirable
- Analytical skills
- Eagerness to learn about new innovations and software
- A desire to assist the club in developing its media strategy and reach
- Experience in using video editing software
- Experience in using photo editing software
- Experience working with a website content management system
- Prior experience in media and administration

Schedule:
The standard hours of work are Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm plus evening and weekend match working
Up to 42 hours a week and anything beyond this will be returned in lieu as agreed with your direct manager.
