About The Role

Job purpose:

  •  Lead and coordinate the Performance Support provision to all Academy age groups (Ug-U19) and manage the day to day running of the Medical department, working closely with the MDT.
  •  Assist the Academy Manager in maintaining the required operating performance standards to meet the Football League regulations and EPPP criteria.
  •  To be a member of the Academy Management Team, driving the strategy of the performance support department.

Main Responsibilities:

Assist the Academy Manager in maintaining the required operating standards to meet the football league regulations and EPPP criteria.

Work closely with members of the academy management team to provide a holistic and rounded development program.

Produce development action plans for staff within the performance support department, providing a tailored CPD program.

Use an innovative and creative approach to keep up to date with the latest news / research regarding performance in order to maintain current and relevant standards.

Ensure contemporary legible and appropriate medical records, audits, registers are maintained and confidentially stored.
 
Provide medical support and input to players and where appropriate staff and officials.
 
Assist in planning treatment programs, in conjunction with the other physiotherapists, for injured players and advise the suitable member of the coaching staff regarding players availability to train/ play.

Inform medical insurance when additional medical investigations are required.

Provide competent pitch side first aid to all players where necessary.

Enthuse and be able to communicate positively with young people creating a positive learning environment.

Be well presented, smart and correctly dressed in Bradford City FC training gear promoting the clubs positively.

Be Brave, Humble and Competitive promoting the academy culture and philosophy.

Other Requirements and Responsibilities:

Work in line at all times with the Club's Use of Social Media policy

Understand, support and work in line at all times with the Club's Safeguarding policy. procedures, and best practice guidelines, ensuring that you make a positive contribution to a safe environment.

Promote the Bradford City AFC brand and ethos in a professional and positive manner.

Work alongside other team members in other areas as and when required.

Carry out all other reasonable requests by management.

 

 

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

Educated to undergraduate degree level within a relevant discipline

Active registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Trauma Medical Management qualification (ATMMIF or equivalent)

Level 4 Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMIF) or

Intermediate First Aid for Sport (IFAS) or comparable equivalent

Experience and Skills

Previous demonstrable experience in a similar role within elite sport or a high-performance environment, or in a position where this opportunity is seen as a natural progression of career.

Previous experience of working well' in a multi-disciplinary environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Good all-round knowledge of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) and its associated audit requirements.

Qualities and Aptitudes

Able to relate, engage and lead positively within a high-performance environment, playing an active role in creating a positive culture.

Ability to communicate information relating to individual athletic performance well (up' and 'down') to a wide variety of staff.

Able to lead with initiative, appreciating confidentiality, working well in a high-pressure high-performance environment, meeting specific deadlines.

Commitment to undertake self-development to ensure knowledge and skills remain current, as techniques and styles continue to evolve Able to work flexibly and be accepting that availability is required in line with and reactive to the academy football calendar.
