About The Role

Job Title:                        Academy Foundation Phase Team Coach

Reporting to:                 Head of Coach & Player Development / Lead Foundation Phase Coach

Contract:                       Part-Time/Casual

Hours of work:              3 training sessions and 1 game per week

Location:                       Meadow Lane Stadium and Training Venues

 

An opportunity has arisen for an Academy Foundation Phase Team Coach to join our innovative and growing Category 3 Academy. Our Team Coaches will deliver the coaching programme within team environments in line with the Game Model.

 

A Team Coach will ensure that when sessions and/or games are to be focused on team-based development (Game Model reflective, larger group sessions, game preparation and/or appropriate games), they take the initiative to plan, frame, deliver and reflect in accordance with the Coaching Strategy, including the clear collaboration with an ILP Coach.

 

The successful candidate will be motivatedand energised by working with Foundation Phase players (ages 8 to 12),understand an age and stage appropriate team environment and show a desire toprogress within an ever-growing high performance culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Be responsible for the delivery of the Academy’s Game Model in an age and stage appropriate manner within the Foundation Phase.

2. There will be key administrative tasks involved within the role, meeting all required criteria of the EPPP.

3. To support the Lead Phase Coach to update the Football Intelligence Platform and ensure all players’ written multidisciplinary team reviews, session and game evaluations are completed.

4. Be responsible for conducting players’in-person multidisciplinary reviews to aid feedback and support in the ongoing retention of players in the programme.

5. To be a key liaison for all Academy families, supporting the Player Care Officer and Head of Education and Safeguarding in our holistic approach to player development.

6. To take an active role in the safeguarding of all Academy players.

About The Candidate

Knowledge and Experience

1. UEFA B Licence (essential)

2. The FA Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) (essential – or personal commitment to complete the award)

3. Has completed the FA Safeguarding Children (essential)

4. Valid FA DBS or willing to undertake a DBS check before starting the role (essential)

About The Club
A full job description and details of interview process will be shared with those who are invited for interview. Interviews will be conducted via a two stage process; Stage 1 telephone interview with the Head of Coach & Player Development, Stage 2 practical session delivery overseen by the Head of Coach & Player Development and other relevant Academy staff from across disciplines, including Safeguarding.
