About The Role

Main Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Academy Coaches Code of Conduct with regards standards and processes.
  •  Manage and deliver the day-to-day coaching sessions and game plans of the U18 players.
  • Supervise U18 players through their education programme in accordance with League Football Education (LFE) requirements.
  • Liaise and work closely with the Sporting Excellence Professional (SEP) Co-ordinator to ensure players progress through their apprentice scheme.
  • Manage and drive the PDP players individual learning plans ensuring coaches are effectively monitoring, reviewing and supporting.
  • Be accountable for all PDP age groups ensuring they are exposed to the experiences/number of games outlined and agreed at the start of the season.
  • Ensure that the players highlighted in each PDP age group are exposed to the experiences outlined and agreed at the start of the season.
  • Use an innovative and creative approach to learning by keep up to date with the latest news/research regarding how best to develop young players.
  • Carry out administrative duties as and when required to ensure the U18s program is organised.
  • Liaise with Youth Administrator to ensure duties and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all administrative duties relevant to the role are up to date, using the methods prescribed by the Academy and football club.
  • Undertake pastoral and welfare duties for the U8s in conjunction with the Education & Life Skills.
  • Contribute to the Scouting and Recruitment process, as appropriate.
  • To assist the Head of Coaching with all other football matters in whatever areas as directed.
  • Play an active part and work collaboratively with the academy management team in providing a holistic and rounded development programme.
Other Requirements and Responsibilities:
  • Attend all Youth Team fixtures throughout the season
  •  Assist the Academy Manager in maintaining all required operating standards to meet football league regulations and Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) criteria.
  • Meet with the Academy Manager and Head of Coaching as required.
  • develop a good understanding of the culture and value if the Academy
  • Always act in the best interests of the Academy
About The Candidate

Thank you for your interest in our vacancy for a Professional Development Phase (PDP) Lead Coach. This is a permanent full-time post working for the Bradford City AFC Academy.

With a strong background in an academy setting, and with proven experience of developing young players in an elite environment, the successful applicant will be responsible for the training, education and welfare of academy players throughout the professional development phase (U18s).

Required to attend all Youth match days, regular weekend and evening working are an important requirement of the role.
