About The Role

Doncaster Rovers Academy are looking to recruit an Assistant Professional Development Coach, responsible for assisting the Lead PDP coach to implement the Academy coaching programme whilst also managing the U15s & U16 age groups and the transition between the phases.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an elite environment for the progression and development of young professional players, promoting the Club’s philosophy, vision and culture at all times.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver coaching sessions in the Professional Development Phase and YDP in tandem with the Academy philosophy and coaching syllabus.
  • Update Kitman Labs for the age group from training sessions, fixtures and player reviews alongside the MDT staff
  • Support the Academy players’ logistics for all training sessions, fixtures, tournaments and Academy events for U15s and U16 age groups
  • Attend all in-service and coaching days as directed by the Head of Academy Business Performance or Head of Academy Coaching.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the achievement of individual player performance targets of players focusing on the holistic development of players.
  • Manage the U15 and U16 programme and the transition of players from the Youth Development Phase to Professional Development Phase.
  • Take an active part in ensuring that all aspects of player’s lives are in accordance to club education and welfare policies.
  • Attend all Academy team meetings, where required.
  • Play a key role in the recruitment and decision making of future scholars at Doncaster Rovers FC
  • Construct and deliver detailed 6 and 12 week reviews for individual players alongside the MDT for the U15s – U18s
  • Maintain honesty and integrity at all times when representing the Club.
  • Champion safeguarding within the U18s and wider Academy.
  • Maintain UEFA Qualifications and Emergency First Aid.
  • Ensure all safeguarding standards are met and maintained, ensuring all concerns are logged on MyConcern.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Promote the brand identity and increase Club Doncaster fan base through positive service delivery.
  • Support the whole of Club Doncaster to promote the events and the business as a whole, including additional support at Club Doncaster Events such as the Big Bang and Festival of Sport weekend.
  • Act at all times with utmost good faith to the Club(s) and the Company.
  • Devote full attention and ability to fulfilment of the duties required by the role.
  • To work closely with, maintain good relationships, and collaborative working practices
  • To work with colleagues throughout Club Doncaster to extend knowledge and skills in order to identify and develop best practice.
  • To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.
  • To maintain the quality of service provision, regularly evaluating work and seeking to make improvements
  • Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner at all times.
About The Candidate

The Person:

  • Committed, enthusiastic and passionate about the development of players in the Professional Development Phase and Youth Development Phase age group.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as using one’s own initiative in developing players and coaching sessions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of different personnel at the Club.
  • An understanding of a range of teaching/learning styles to optimise the development of young players.
  • Able to communicate effectively with players, parents and fellow staff members at all levels.
  • Be an approachable and accommodating figure for youth team players to work with.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office and Kit Man Labs to a high standard.
  • Able to adapt to the demands of the job and the needs of the players.
  • Dedicated to self-improvement and continuous professional development.
  • Willing to follow and promote the philosophy of the Club and Academy.
  • Be an ambassador for Doncaster Rovers Football Club, representing the club in a positive image at all times.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • FA UEFA A Licence (or working towards)
  • FA Youth Award
  • FA Safeguarding Children
  •  FA First Aid
Desirable:
  • Advanced Youth Award
