About The Role

Summary of vacancy

Lead and coordinate the Academy goalkeeping programme across all development phases.

Design and deliver age-appropriate goalkeeping sessions aligned with the Club’s Playing and Coaching Philosophy.

Support the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of Academy goalkeepers.

Manage and mentor Academy goalkeeping coaches to maintain high coaching standards.

Monitor goalkeeper performance and contribute to Individual Learning Plans and Multi-Disciplinary Reviews.

Work collaboratively with coaching, sports science, medical and recruitment departments.

Support player transitions between Academy phases and progression towards senior football.

Assist with the identification and recruitment of goalkeepers aligned to the Club pathway.

Maintain accurate player development records and performance information.

Contribute to Academy audits, compliance reviews and continuous improvement planning.

Attend Academy fixtures, training sessions, tournaments and events as required.

Ensure safeguarding, equality and player welfare standards are upheld throughout the goalkeeping programme.

Represent Rochdale AFC professionally and positively at all times.

About The Candidate

Essential 

  • FA Goalkeeping Coaching B Licence (Essential)  

  • UEFA B Outfield Coaching Licence (Essential) 

  • FA Safeguarding Children 

  • Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) / EFAiF 

  • Hold a full UK driving license 


Desirable  

  • FA Goalkeeper Coaching A Licence (Desirable)  

  • Advance Youth Award (Desirable) 

  • FA Youth Award (Modules 1, 2 and 3) (Desirable) 

  • D1 minibus license


Role Requirements
 
  • To undertake required training, including mandatory Club Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety training. 

  • To ensure that the Club’s Safe-guarding and Vulnerable Adults policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.  

  • Experience of working in an Academy under EPPP rules 

  • Background in football as a player and or coach. 

  • Knowledge of age-appropriate; development programmes, curriculums, and session planning. 

  • Knowledge of elite level requirements including the demonstration of professional standards and behaviours to enhance, and maintain a culture of high performance 

  • IT literate with a knowledge of the Kitman Labs Football Intelligence Platform. 

  • Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work and be able to work evenings, weekends and match days as required. 

  • You will require a full, valid UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle and be eligible to work in the UK.
