About The Role

Burton Albion Football Club is seeking a driven and experienced 1st Team Strength and Power Coach to join its performance team at the Pirelli Stadium. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-performance service to First Team players, focused on enhancing on-field performance, maximising player availability and supporting long-term player development.

Working closely with the 1st Team Lead Sports Science and wider multidisciplinary team, you will lead the design and delivery of individualised strength and conditioning programmes, oversee pre-season and in-season physical preparation, and support injury prevention and rehabilitation. You will also analyse performance data, contribute to matchday operations and ensure players are physically prepared to perform at their peak.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification in sport science or strength and conditioning, with professional accreditation or be working towards it, alongside proven experience in an elite sport environment. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to lead and collaborate effectively, and will thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance setting. Flexibility is essential, as the role includes evenings, weekends and matchdays.

This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) based at the Pirelli Stadium, offering the opportunity to contribute to a progressive and ambitious football club committed to performance, development and inclusion.

About The Candidate

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

  • BSc (Hons) Sports Science/Strength and Conditioning
  • BASES accredited (or working towards this)
  • At least 3-5 years previous experience in football or elite sport including experience of managing a team
  • Experience of training/rehabilitation principles and a sound understanding of rehabilitation processes
  • Familiarity with fitness and performance monitoring tools (eg STATSports, Vald and output sports)
  • Competence use of IT Programmes and online systems
