About The Role

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them thrive both on and off the pitch?

Queens Park Rangers Football Club is looking for a compassionate and organised Player Care Lead (U9–U15) to join our Category 1 Academy.

In this role, you will support Academy players through key stages of their journey — from inductions and transitions to wellbeing, personal development and life skills. You’ll work closely with players, families, schools and Academy staff to create a positive, inclusive and supportive environment where young athletes can flourish.

You will also:

  •  Deliver engaging life skills workshops and player support programmes.
  • Build trusted relationships with players and parents.
  • Support safeguarding and pastoral care processes.
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across the Academy.
  • Help players develop confidence, resilience and skills for life beyond football.

About The Candidate

You care about helping young people grow and succeed. You enjoy building positive relationships and creating supportive environments where others feel valued.

You will bring:

  • Experience supporting children or young people.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • A calm, empathetic and approachable manner.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Confidence working with parents, colleagues and external partners.
  • A passion for wellbeing, safeguarding and inclusion.

You should also:

  • Feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

A background in education, sport, youth work, safeguarding, wellbeing or pastoral care would be beneficial. Experience in an Academy or elite sport environment is helpful but not essential.

You will need:

  • An Enhanced DBS check.
  • Safeguarding and First Aid certificates.
  • A full UK driving licence.

We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds and experiences who share our commitment to supporting young athletes.
