About The Role

We are looking for someone to join our Commercial Team to proactively sell Reading Football Club partnerships, sponsorships, advertising and increase business performance within this sector
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • To collaborate with the Head of Department to achieve sponsorship and sales objectives, aiming to significantly increase partnership income
  • To identify and develop leads to secure high-value sponsorship across all areas of the club, including on-kit, real estate and digital assets
  • To proactively source potential sponsors, qualifying prospects, and leading negotiations to successful acquisition.
  • To develop sponsorship proposals by collaborating with internal departments to structure proposals that meet the needs of prospective sponsors.
  • To support partners and the partnership activation team in partner delivery
  • To build and maintain long-term relationships with current and potential sponsors.
  • To coordinate with agencies to enhance the commercial program
  • To assist with hospitality sales and event sales – identify any areas to drive income in to the business working with relevant team members
  • To develop sales materials in collaboration with the brand team.
  • To improve cross-team synergies through research and analysis of targeted opportunities.
  • To foster a high-performance culture with other members of sales team and ensuring effective collaboration with internal teams.
  • To build strong external networks to promote the organisation's sponsorship opportunities and attract inbound leads.
  • To keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging sponsorship categories, and relevant research.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Self-reliant, driven, and focused on delivering results.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, with weekend work required occasionally
  •  Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Qualifications & Experience
 
Essential 
  • Experience in a sales environment and a track record of exceeding sales targets
  • Previous sales experience in the UK market
  • Willingness to undertake Continued Professional Development organised by Reading Football Club.
  • Completion of Safeguarding Training.
  • Completion of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion training.

    Desirable

  • Understanding of sport, particularly football.
  • Experience in selling sponsorships and presenting sponsorship presentations
  •  Proven client relationships in the Reading/Berkshire area
