Reports to: First Team Manager, Director of Football, Board of Directors

The Role

Stevenage FC is seeking a highly motivated Recruitment Analyst to support the club’s player recruitment strategy ahead of the upcoming seasons. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying, analysing and profiling potential transfer and loan targets aligned with the club’s football philosophy, budget and squad requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of football performance, and a clear interest in working within a visual & data-informed recruitment environment in professional football.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse player performance data to identify and assess potential recruitment targets across domestic and international markets
  • Build and maintain detailed player profiles combining data, video, and contextual insights
  • Support live and post-match opposition and individual player analysis
  • Assist in squad planning, contract benchmarking and market monitoring
  • Work closely with scouts, coaches and recruitment staff to align data insights with on-the-ground observations
  • Manage and update internal recruitment databases and reporting tools
  • Produce clear, concise reports and presentations to support decision-making at recruitment meetings

About The Candidate

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of football, particularly the EFL and comparable leagues
  • Experience working with football data platforms (e.g. Wyscout, StatsBomb, Impect and TransferRoom)
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and/or data analysis tools
  • Ability to translate data into clear football insights
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends when required
 Desirable
  • Experience in a professional football recruitment or performance analysis role
  • Coding or data visualisation skills.
  • Understanding of squad-building strategies, age curves and transfer market dynamics
  • UEFA B / performance analysis qualifications (or working towards)
