Overall purpose of the job
On behalf of the organisation, to be the first point of contact to for the club and senior management team, as well as staff members, volunteers, children, young people, adults at risk and/or their family, carers and advocates - as well as anyone else that has a safeguarding concern; whilst ensuring that all safeguarding policies, procedures and practice across the organisation meet statutory requirements
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Work across the Academy, Men’s & Women’s Senior Teams.
- Play a lead role in maintaining and reviewing the club's safeguarding plan
- Coordinate the review and distribution of policies, procedures, and safeguarding resources throughout the organisation
- Manage the staff safeguarding training needs analysis to ensure appropriate delivery of planned safeguarding training (staff induction, periodical training and updates)
- Advise on staff and player safeguarding training needs and development, providing training where appropriate
- Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and volunteers
- Manage safeguarding concerns, allegations, or incidents reported to the club
- Manage and update the electronic reporting and recording case management system
- Manage referrals to key safeguarding agencies (e.g., social services or police) of any incidents or allegations of abuse and harm
- Manage the staff safeguarding training needs analysis to ensure appropriate delivery of planned safeguarding training (staff induction, periodical training and updates)
- Support Senior Management with safer recruitment processes
- Maintain the central player & staff databases (Staff Registration System and Single Central Record)
- Attend EFL and any other relevant agency safeguarding children and vulnerable adults training days
- Complete and evidence risk assessments as required (facilities, tours, events, training, fixtures)
- Promote anti-discriminatory practice with the club.
- Prevent Radicalisation (Prevent Duty responsibility)
- Contribute to the delivery of the SEP apprenticeship programme where applicable
