About The Role

Job Summary

The Commercial Sales Manager will be responsible for leading revenue generation through the sale of partnerships, matchday sponsorship packages, advertising, and hospitality at Burton Albion. This role is central to the club’s growth strategy, focusing on building strong relationships with local, national, and international businesses to maximize commercial opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

Partnership Sales

  • Identify, pitch, and secure new commercial partners, aligning their brand objectives with the club’s platforms.
  • Develop tailored partnership proposals, including digital, in-stadium, and community engagement assets.

Sponsorship & Advertising

  • Sell matchday sponsorships (e.g., match sponsors, ball sponsors, player sponsors) to both corporate and SME markets.
  • Generate revenue through stadium advertising, perimeter boards, programme adverts, and digital media inventory.

Hospitality & Matchday Sales

  • Drive sales of seasonal and matchday hospitality packages across lounges, boxes, and premium seating.
  • Develop innovative hospitality offers to attract new audiences while retaining existing clients.

Account Management

  • Deliver first-class service to sponsors, advertisers, and hospitality clients, ensuring rights are fulfilled and experiences exceed expectations.
  • Build long-term partnerships to maximize renewals and referrals.

Revenue Growth & Strategy

  • Work with the Head of Commercial to set sales targets, track performance, and deliver revenue objectives.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline, providing regular reports and forecasts.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility and care for the health and safety of yourself and other employees and members of the public who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
  • To comply with all aspects of the Club’s Health & Safety Policy and arrangements, to enable the company to perform its civil and statutory obligations in relation to Health & Safety.

     

    Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures as outlined by the Club; and report any safeguarding or welfare concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer in the first instance.

  • Demonstrated track record in B2B sales – ideally within sports, entertainments, events
  • Strong network of corporate contacts with ability to open new doors
  • Commercially astute with the ability to package and sell creative sponsorship solutions
