Who we are:
Blackpool Football Club is an English Professional Association Football Club based in the seaside town of Blackpool, Lancashire.
The Club was founded in 1887 and has a very storied history, from being a founding member of the Lancashire League in 1889, rising to the Top-Flight of the Football League (the old First Division) in 1930, to winning the FA Cup in 1953 and being promoted to the Premier League in 2010 (becoming the first Club to gain promotion from every division of the Football League via the play-off system.)
The team are competing in League One, the third tier of the English Football League.
The Club have played their home games at Bloomfield Road since 1901.
About the Role:
Blackpool Football Club Academy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Academy Goalkeeping Coach to join our dynamic Coaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching all Academy goalkeepers from Under 9 to Under 16, working in conjunction with the Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach to deliver a comprehensive and progressive Goalkeeper Development Programme.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Coaching and Development:
- Conduct high-quality training sessions for the Academy goalkeepers (U9-U16), focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of goalkeeping.
- Implement the Academy's goalkeeper coaching philosophy and curriculum, ensuring consistency and continuity across all age groups.
- Provide individualised coaching and feedback to goalkeepers, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach to plan, deliver, and review goalkeeper training sessions.
- Liaise with age group coaches to integrate goalkeeper training within team sessions and match preparations.
- Attend and contribute to regular coaching meetings, providing updates on goalkeeper development and progress.
Match Day Responsibilities:
- Support Academy goalkeepers during match days, offering tactical advice and performing pre-match warm-ups.
- Analyse goalkeeper performances during matches and provide constructive feedback both verbally and through the Football Intelligence Platform.
Administration and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of training sessions, player attendance, and progress reports.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for goalkeepers.
- Assist with the organisation and delivery of goalkeeper-specific events, camps, and clinics.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Attend relevant courses, workshops, and conferences to further develop coaching skills and knowledge.
General:
- Additional duties as reasonably requested by the Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach.
- To adhere to the Club’s Safeguarding Policy at all times.

- To promote a professional image of the club and themselves at all times.
- To contribute to identifying and undertaking initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.

Qualifications
|
- UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence or equivalent.
- UEFA B licence – Outfield.
- FA Safeguarding Children Qualification.

- UEFA A Goalkeeping Licence or working towards it.

Experience
|
- Proven experience coaching goalkeepers at youth level, preferably within a professional Football Academy setting.
|
- Previous playing experience as a goalkeeper at a professional or semi-professional level.
- Experience using video analysis software and performance analysis tools.

Knowledge & Skills
|
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
