Cheltenham Town FC Academy is welcoming applications for an Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach who will oversee the planning and implementation of our Academy goalkeeping development strategy.
We are looking for an individual who can develop future players for our first team, manage the goalkeeping program (U9-U18) and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
The Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach will report to the Academy Head of Coaching and have responsibility for the planning, delivery and reflection of all sessions. They will lead MDT reviews, player reviews and provide feedback in accordance with the Academy's procedures for the Academy’s registered goalkeepers from U9’s to U18’s.
The role would suit someone with knowledge of coaching in Academy football and is seeking to gain full-time experience within an Academy setting. The ideal candidate will hold a minimum goalkeeping UEFA B (essential / working towards UEFA B will be considered), UEFA B (essential) and emergency first aid in football (desirable).
The role is full-time (35 hours a week) and would suit someone who has the flexibility to work evenings and weekend fixtures. At present, the role would be paid in line with the national living wage.
The successful candidate will be joining an ambitious Category 3 Academy with a dedicated and experienced staff that is striving to be the best they possibly can be.

External: Premier League clubs & Football League clubs, FA, Universities/colleges, FAYCD, and PFA.

Overall purpose of the job
To enhance the football and holistic development of the goalkeepers in the Academy development system (U9-U18s). Manage the technical and tactical advancement (individual and team) of the players in conjunction with the relative coaching staff.
Responsible for the detailed holistic planning and implementation of individual learning plans in line with club coaching and playing philosophy.

Personal Development
Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspects of your role is up-to-date and forward-thinking:
Coach across different academy phases
Complete club CPD and FA qualifications as part of your ongoing development action plan
Coaching Curriculum, Playing and Coaching Philosophy
Deliver the academy’s coaching curriculum in line with the academy’s playing philosophy and coaching philosophy
Design and implement an age-appropriate programme and schedule that maximises the academy's resources and provides maximal opportunity for players to practice, develop and learn.
Lead the on-grass delivery of sessions and games
Games Programme
Support the lead phase in designing a varied and consistent games programme
Maximise playing minutes and opportunities
Support the PDP lead phase in highlighting player loan opportunities and monitoring progress
Individual Learning Plan Design and Delivery
Utilising the MDT design and deliver ILP’s using the four corner approach
Lead using an MDT approach to enhance each individual performance on and off the grass
Manage player transitions into and from the cell (player handovers, inductions, player signings, transition across a player journey)
Feedback
Complete and deliver feedback to staff and players/parents in line with the clubs processes and protocols
Maintain player data records
Manage Staff
Manage other part-time/casual coaches in the cell to deliver the Foundation Development programme.

Attend trials and recruitment games as allocated in conjunction with the recruitment team, highlight potential new signings
