About The Role

About the Role

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for two full-time Apprentice Coaches to join our Category 3 Academy. This role will support a wide range of programmes delivered by both Notts County FC and the Notts County Foundation.

As an Apprentice Coach, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching sessions in primary schools (during curriculum time and extracurricular activities), within the Pre-Academy, and across a variety of community programmes. Alongside your coaching responsibilities, you will benefit from guidance and development through our Academy Coach Development Programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake key administrative duties in partnership with the Notts County Foundation.

  • Work closely with both Foundation and Club staff to deliver the Primary School Programme.

  • Signpost players to the FSM First Kicks programme and identify talented individuals for the Pre-Academy.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for schools and teachers.

  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all participants in the First Kicks programme.

  • Contribute to the development and promotion of the Club’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives across Notts County FC, the Academy, and the Foundation.

  • Plan and deliver engaging sessions as part of the Academy’s First Kicks programme.

About The Candidate

Knowledge and Experience

  • FA Introduction to Coaching qualification (or currently working towards)

  • BTEC Level 3 in Sports Coaching

  • FA Introduction to First Aid in Football qualification (or currently working towards)

  • FA Safeguarding Children course

  • Valid FA DBS check, or willingness to obtain prior to starting the role

  • FA EE Playmaker qualification (or currently working towards)

Person Specification

  • Highly motivated, energetic, and passionate about working within Notts County Academy

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and working hours

  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and player welfare

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, players, schools, and community partners

  • Resilient and capable of working under pressure, including managing challenges outside standard working hours

  • Ability to demonstrate and uphold the Academy’s Core Values in all aspects of the role
