Birmingham City Football Club is committed to developing talented young players in a professional, high-performance environment. We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Academy PDP Physiotherapist to join our Academy Performance Support team.
This role is key in delivering first-class medical care and rehabilitation to players in the Academy Professional Development Phase (U18 and U21 squads), ensuring that players are supported in achieving their full potential both on and off the pitch.
The Role
The Academy PDP Physiotherapist will assess, manage, and rehabilitate injuries for Academy players, working as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to deliver best-in-class support services. The role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, players, and parents.
You will play a pivotal role in injury prevention, screening, and performance enhancement, while ensuring compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and medical standards. Key Responsibilities

Provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for injured U18 and U21 players.

Deliver injury prevention and screening programmes, including medical and movement assessments.

Provide training and matchday pitch-side medical cover for PDP squads.

Maintain accurate medical records on Kitman Labs and SharePoint within 24 hours.

Communicate medical status and rehabilitation progress to staff, players, and parents as required.

Collaborate with the Academy MDT (physiotherapy, strength & conditioning, performance, psychology, nutrition, and analysis).

Assist with medical support for younger age groups where required.

Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and medical confidentiality at all times.

Contribute to player performance reviews and competency frameworks.

Engage in continued professional development and departmental audits.
