About The Role

Morecambe Football Club's Academy (based at Lancaster & Morecambe College) is now recruiting for proactive Professional Development Phase Lead Coach to oversee the under 18's.  
 
The role-holder will assist the Academy Manager/Head of Academy Coaching in delivering outstanding training and implementing the coaching strategy and related age appropriate practices associated for Morecambe fc's Academy. 
Follow the coaching programme and provide session plans relevant to technical, tactical, physical and psychological/social demands, and, oversee the player administration/review reports together with games programme/reports.  Assist in the management and production of a squad of players capable of competing against other Academies at this level.
 
The role-holder is required to build and maintain excellent relationships with both the Football Club and the College, as well as externally across the wider football network.
 
Main Duties:
  • To manage, coach and develop the players within the professional development phase (PDP) of the Academy (u18's)
  • TO support the progression of the PDP phase players into the 1st team squad to coach and support the match /  training programme  / reserve squad
  • To plan, prepare, deliver and review the PDP (u18's) coaching and games programme aligned with the coaching syllabus of the Academy
  • To liaise with the senior coaching staff of the club regarding u23's / reserves coaching and games programme
  • To ensure the PDP players are developed both on an individual basis and within a team framework, as per the coaching syllabus of the Academy and their ILP's
  • To liaise with the multi-disciplinary staff within the Academy on a daily basis to ensure the coaching programme enables each PDP player to develop across their technical, tactical, physical and psychological abilities and to the maximum
  • To ensure the Performance Management Application (PMA) is up-to-date and aligned with EPPP guidelines for all the players within the PDP
  • To attend, and at all times, contribute to the Club's in-service CPD events
  • To be pivotal in contribution to Academy Management Team (AMT) meetings, and, attend the Club's Technical Board meetings, as necessary
  • To manage and embed the football philosophy through diligent monitoring of the 'Playing Principles' of the Academy/Club
  • To comply with all Club policies and procedures, and, regulations relative to your role at the Academy
  • To plan, prepare and deliver the individual player review meetings, supported by the Academy multidisciplinary team, setting new targets for the players, across the 4 corners
  • To improve and develop new skills and knowledge through your DAP using the Academy CCF
 
 
 
 

About The Candidate

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
 
UEFA A Licence
Advanced Youth Award
Knowledge of the PMA system
FA First Aid qualification
FA Safeguarding course
Experience of coaching within the relevant age groups within an Academy/Player development environment
Excellent MS Office skills
Excellent communication skills, both orally and written 
Personable and must have strong work ethical values
Sensitive to the needs of young players and parents/guardians
Must be able to work weekends and evenings, as required throughout the football season
Enhanced DBS checks is a mandatory requirement
 
Desirable:
Knowledge and understanding of the EPPP process
