About The Role

  • Plan, prepare and support teachers to deliver PE lessons, a range of educational workshops in primary schools as well as breakfast/lunchtime/after-school provision and activities for teacher planning, preparation and assessment time cover.
  • Deliver a range of targeted interventions to children in primary schools including literacy, numeracy, social action and anti-discriminatory workshops.

    Support with the delivery and facilitation of afternoon, evening and weekend provision in the local community related to employability, health and wellbeing and social inclusion and supporting the Club.

  • Support the development of relationships with local partners such as school teachers, understanding their school policies such as behaviour and health and safety.

  • Ensure the relevant information is gathered to support and progress participants within lessons.

  • Build trusted and reliable relationships as a role model for young people and vulnerable service users.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, including adapting resources and engagements to ensure equal opportunities for all.

  •  Adhere to health and safety requirements with support of the Health and Safety Lead

  •  Be committed to safeguarding and working with the Designated Safeguarding Officer.

  • Collect, input and contribute to data and impact measurement working with the Data and Impact Coordinator.

  • Support the relevant Officer and Coordinator to design and adapt the content of delivery to meet the needs of target groups for our offer.

  • Promote the vision, mission and core values of the Foundation.

  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • Experience in delivering a range of activities related to sport
  • Experience in delivering educational workshops and/or wellbeing
  • Experience in collecting data
  • Excellent verbal skills
  • An ability to adapt delivery to meet individual needs

 

  • Experience of working with children and young people with SEND

 

Qualifications

  • A good standard of general education including high level literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Level 2 Sports Coaching Qualification from a recognised National Governing Body (e.g. UEFA C Licence) or willingness to work towards
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant and Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualifications specialising in Physical Education (L3TA / L4HLTA) or willingness to work towards
  • Emergency First Aid Certificate or willing to work towards
  • FA Safeguarding Children Course or willingness to work towards.

 

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching
  • Sports or Education Degree or equivalent experience
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Coaching qualifications or experience in coaching more than one sport

Specific Skills and Knowledge

  • The ability to communicate well with a range of participants, in particular children and young people.
  • An ability to think creatively and motivate and inspire young people.
  • A knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
  • An ability to work independently and proactively showing initiative.
  • An ability to work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development

 

Additional Requirements

  • A flexible approach to working hours to include evening and weekend work as part of regular delivery
  • A valid driving licence, with access to own transport including business insurance and willingness to travel within the Tees Valley
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS check will need to be completed

 

 


About The Club

Working as part of the Education and Employability Team, the role will deliver on the Middlesbrough Football Club Foundation’s education programmes including Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Kicks.

The delivery will focus on high-quality, engaging activity including PE, educational workshops, interventions, and other sports and physical activity.
