About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive, and determined Academy Schoolboy Therapist to join our established Academy at Coventry City Football Club.

 

Within the role of Academy Schoolboy Therapist, the successful applicant will be responsible for aiding the Youth/Foundation Development Phase players within the Academy. Working closely alongside senior academy physiotherapists as part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will offer support across of the YDP/FDP age group squads on evenings and weekends, delivering evidence based pre and post-match injury assessment, for a mixture of training sessions and fixtures. As well as providing medical pitch side cover in the event of minor and major injuries. The successful applicant will receive a personal development plan, access to regular continued professional development and be part of the Academy’s Staff Development Programme.

Joining an established medical team, they will work closely with this team and the wider multidisciplinary staff providing holistic player development.

 

The successful applicant will receive a personal staff development plan to support their own learning, have access to a range of formal CPD opportunities throughout the season.

About The Candidate

Qualifications:

Essential 

  • BSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy
  • Experience working in a MSK environment
  • Registration with relevant governing body (HCPC and CSP)
  • FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • Proficient in the notation and submission of SOAP notes
  • Be able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Understand the need for flexible working hours.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all club staff members
  • Be adaptable to work to the demands of the job and needs of the players
  • Display a growth mindset towards self-improvement and personal development
  • Be focused on individual player development within a team
  • Live within a workable distance of the football club
  • Be passionate about working with and developing young people

Desirable

  • MSc in relevant medical field
  • Intermediate and Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) or working towards. 
  • Experience working with paediatrics    
  • Full clean UK driving license           

All CCFC Academy staff must complete an enhanced DBS Check.
