About The Role

Job Summary

The Chief Analyst will oversee all aspects of performance, tactical, and recruitment analysis.

The postholder is instrumental in delivering actionable insights to first team coaches, scouts, and senior leadership, ensuring data is fully integrated into the club’s strategic and operational planning.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and coordinate departmental roles to ensure efficient, high-performance workflows that fully support the first-team coaching staff across all areas of performance analysis.
  • Lead a department that delivers actionable, in-depth analysis at both team and individual player levels, covering technical and tactical insights, opposition analysis, set pieces, training, and all stages of match preparation (pre-match, in-game, post-match).
  • Provide live in-game analysis of team performance, identifying tactical patterns, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with coaching staff to inform and evolve game plans and strategies.
  • Ensure thorough analysis of upcoming opponents through live scouting and video review, enabling the production of comprehensive opposition reports.
  • Drive the creation and delivery of engaging pre-match presentations for staff and players, leveraging video analysis tools to enhance understanding and promote player engagement.
  • Oversee the production of opposition analysis in multiple formats, including interactive dossiers combining video and written insights. This should include opponent team overviews (form, shape, statistical profiles), playing styles, individual threats, and squad breakdowns.
  • Manage live filming and analysis of matches—home and away as needed—to provide wide-angle tactical footage and coded clips, delivering immediate, relevant feedback aligned with the club’s technical and tactical principles.
  • Create detailed recruitment dossiers, combining video analysis and written evaluation, to support decision-making by senior management and the recruitment department.
  • Analyse data as part of player identification, recruitment analysis and research projects.
  • Use data analytics platforms and club partners to continuously monitor and highlight players of interest to the scouting team.
  • All employees may be required to undertake any other duties as may be reasonably requested.

About The Candidate

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

  • Previous Experience in football or elite sport – including examples of leadership
  • Familiarity with performance analysis tools including Fulcrum, RT Tactical Pro and Impect.
  • Competent use of IT Programmes and online systems.
