Placement Description:

As a Scout Volunteer, you will attend weekly matches and training sessions within the local and surrounding areas to spot talented players who align with our Academy’s recruitment profile. You'll help build a player database, develop strong relationships with grassroots and professional clubs, and support the continuous improvement of our Academy programme. 

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must be over the age of 18.

This volunteer role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in talent identification within a professional football environment while playing a key part in discovering and supporting the development of young players. About The Candidate

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Person Specification:

  • Attend matches regularly to identify and recommend players.
  • Build and maintain a database of players suitable for the club.
  • Develop strong links with local grassroots and professional clubs.
  • Benchmark current players by attending training and games.
  • Participate in club-led training and development sessions (CPD).
  • Complete scouting reports and related tasks on time.
  • Uphold high professional standards and demonstrate club values at all times.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures diligently.

Essential:

  • FA Talent ID Level 1 certification (or willing to achieve).
  • Current FA Safeguarding Children qualification.
  • Ability to pass an FA DBS Enhanced check.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable, honest, and trustworthy with great attention to detail.
  • Organised, with excellent time management skills.
  • Confident and positive when interacting with others.
  • Enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and solution-oriented.
  • Willing to work under pressure and adapt as needed.

Desirable:

  • FA Talent ID Level 2 certification.
  • Experience working within an inclusive, diverse environment reflecting EDI values.
  • Previous scouting or coaching experience.
