Reports to: Head of Women’s Operations
Key Contacts Internal: Head of Methodology, Methodology Manager, Women & Girl’s Technical Lead; Girl’s Technical Support Coach; Women’s Goalkeeper Coach; Head of Women’s Performance; Head of Women’s Medical; Other Girl’s Coaching Staff. External: Other League age group coaches, grassroots clubs, QPR in the Community Trust
Location: Based primarily at Rosedale College or other as appropriate (training venue) (travel will be required for away fixtures)
Hours: Sessional (evening & weekend work will be required)
Job Purpose: To assist with the coaching and management of an age group within the Girl’s Programme (U10, U12, U14, U16)
Role Accountabilities & Key Duties
1 To lead or assist on the delivery of coaching sessions for an allocated team or age group.
2 To plan, prepare and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the Coaching Programme and Syllabus, as directed by Head of Methodology, Methodology Manager and Women and Girl’s Technical Lead.
3 To keep accurate records of coaching sessions, fixtures, learning objectives, and other necessary work as required within an appropriate time frame.
4 To work collaboratively with the Women and Girl’s Technical Lead to devise individual learning plans for players and share updates regarding progress.
5 To lead on individual reviews and parents’ meeting for U18 players in line with their individual learning plans.
6 To liaise closely with other age group coaches to support the transition of potential players across groups.
7 To lead or assist with the management of an age group on match-days as necessary, this includes liaising with opposition, match officials and other key stakeholders.
8 To provide a point of liaison for the relevant age group parents/guardians or player, leading on communication.
9 To report any serious injury concerns on players to Head of Women’s Medical and Head of Operations, for clinical advice.
10 To report any welfare concerns on players to the Club Safeguarding Manager and Head of Operations, via the appropriate reporting mechanisms.
11 To develop a sound working knowledge of safeguarding children’s regulations, including legislation & governing body rules.
12 To report any behavioural concerns on players to the Head of Women’s Operations and Women and Girl’s Technical Lead, for further investigation.
13 To be available for all internal in-service & CPD events.
14 To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
15 To be responsible for the kit & equipment of their relevant age group.
16 To attend all coaching, governing league and programme meetings as necessary.
17 To report to Head of Operations and Women and Girl’s Technical Lead on a regular basis.
18 Participate in the appraisal process with Head of Women’s Operations and Women and Girl’s Technical Lead.
19 Adhere to all programme policies/procedures, as issued by Head of Women’s Operations. Adhere to all company regulations regarding policies, procedures, health, safety and security.
20 All other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this position.
