About The Role
Job purpose
Lincoln City Football Club is offering an exciting opportunity for sports therapists to work within the Academy department. The primary function of the post is to support the Academy Physiotherapist with injury treatment, injury protocols, EAPs and medical equipment, and to provide pitch side first aid, injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for the whole Academy programme.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out duties in accordance with all relevant company policies, including, but not exclusive to, the Health and Safety at Work Act, Code of Conduct, Diversity & Equality Policy, Equal Opportunities Policy, Financial Regulations Policy & Social Media Policy

Support the medical cover for all Academy teams on a weekly basis

Support the implementation of injury prevention strategies across all age groups

Keep accurate, secure and up-to-date records of injuries and ensure reporting systems are maintained

Effectively communicate with the coaching staff regarding players’ injuries and fitness status

Work with the Senior Academy Physiotherapist on the planning and implementation of player screenings and interventions

Attend when required by senior management appropriate meetings regarding key issues within the Academy

Report to the First Team Physiotherapist & Club Doctor when required

Support the medical provision of the matchday games programme

Be an ambassador for the football club and share in its vision and values

To safeguard and promote the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk

About The Candidate
KNOWLEDGE

Essential

Minimum BSc in Sports Therapy OR Physiotherapy

Member of the Society of Sports Therapists OR HCPC registered

Full clean driving license and ability to travel independently
Desirable

Valid FA ITMMiF pitch side qualification

Any other professional or industry qualifications

FA Safeguarding certificate

TECHNICAL/WORK-BASED SKILLS
 
Essential

Sound understanding of anatomy and common injuries within football

Competent in the assessment of basic MSK injuries

Ability to produce effective exercise-based rehabilitation plans

Strong IT skills and diligent approach to recording all medical data
Desirable

Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the FA, EFL, and Premier League

GENERAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Essential

Passionate about learning and development

Have exceptionally high standards and expectations in performance for self and others

Excellent communication skills

Ability and willingness to work outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends

EXPERIENCE
 
Desirable

Previously held a role in a related field

Experience of the football academy environment

Experience using the KitmanLabs Intelligence Platform

Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team

Experience of working with children of varied ages

Experience working with parents of players/patients/clients
