Retail Executive

York City Football Club is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Retail Executive to support the delivery of an outstanding experience for supporters, and visitors. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the Club Shop as well as helping to drive commercial revenue while delivering exceptional customer service. The role combines retail sales, stock management, shirt printing, order fulfilment and sales analysis, reflecting the increasingly integrated commercial operations at football clubs. 

Key Responsibilities

Retail

• Deliver exceptional customer service in the Club Shop.
• Manage the on-line shop across product launches, product searches and order fulfilment including packaging and dispatching.
• Process sales accurately using our back office systems.
• Assist supporters with product enquiries, sizing and merchandise recommendations.
• Receive deliveries, manage stock replenishment and conduct regular stock counts.
• Help minimise stock loss through effective stock control procedures. 
• Ensure merchandise displays remain attractive, fully stocked and aligned with club campaigns.
• Support new product launches and promotional campaigns.

General

• Be a positive ambassador for York City Football Club at all times.
• Maintain high standards of presentation throughout all public-facing areas.
• Comply with all Health & Safety, Safeguarding, GDPR and Club policies.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Business Development Officer.

Essential

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Friendly, professional and confident communicator.
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Capable on Canva or similar graphic packages.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends and matchdays.
• Passion for delivering exceptional supporter and sponsor experiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• Previous experience in retail, hospitality or events.
• Experience using Shopify, EPOS and/or other retail systems.
• An eye for product and knowhow in launching this on-line and across social media.
• Stock control experience.
• Knowledge of football club or sporting retail environments.
• Full UK driving licence.
