About The Role

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, innovative, and career-focused professional to join our Marketing & Content Team in the position of Social Media Executive at Hull City.

As Social Media Executive for Hull City, you’ll play a key role in bringing the energy of football to life online. From match-day moments to behind-the-scenes stories, you’ll create content that connects fans, amplifies the club’s voice, and drives engagement across all platforms. This role blends creativity, strategy, and real-time execution to keep Hull City at the forefront of digital trends while delivering a best-in-league fan experience. You’ll also be an active member of the Marketing & Content team, helping to create programs that elevate our social media profiles and support partnership revenues.

Location: MKM Stadium, Hull

Salary: £25,000- £30,000

Contract: Full-time, permanent – 37.5 hours per week, with a requirement to work home and away matchdays, which typically fall on evenings and weekends.

About The Candidate

Your key responsibilities

  • Lead the social media content calendar, planning and publishing across all platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging channels, ensuring content is tailored and optimized for each platform.
  • Deliver real-time content on matchdays, including photos, videos, graphics, and live updates, attending all home and away games.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies in collaboration with the Marketing & Content team that align with Hull City’s brand and marketing objectives.
  • Track and analyse social performance, providing insights and recommendations to continually improve digital engagement, while monitoring and responding to fan interactions in real-time.
  • Set engagement goals and create campaigns that drive fan interaction and grow the Club’s digital presence.
  • Produce high-quality, engaging short-form vertical videos for platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Stories.
  • Work closely with internal teams (commercial, ticketing, community, football operations) and external partners/influencers to maximize engagement and revenue opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with emerging social media trends and strategies to keep content fresh and innovative.
  • Contribute to editorial and content creation, identifying engaging storylines and storytelling opportunities across all digital channels.

What are we looking for?

  • 2+ years' experience in social media within a fast-paced sports or entertainment environment.
  • Creative, energetic, and motivated social media practitioner with a passion for sport and digital storytelling.
  • Strong familiarity with platforms including TikTok/Reels, Facebook, Instagram, X, and emerging social channels.
  • Proven track record of using social and digital media to drive engagement and support organisational objectives.
  • Proven experience in analysing social media data to generate actionable, insight-led recommendations.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite for creating graphics, videos, and photos.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to develop strategies that increase engagement and reach.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a team environment, able to produce time-sensitive content under tight deadlines.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays as required.
  • Excellent communication, copywriting, and editing skills.
  • Quick learner who adapts easily to new tools and organisational processes.
  • A full UK driving licence is desirable, given the travel requirements of the role, but is not essential.
