About The Role

Part-Time Academy Age Group Coaches

Gillingham FC Academy is seeking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic Part-Time Age Group Coaches to support the development of players within our Academy.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional academy environment, supporting the development of young players in line with the club’s coaching philosophy and the standards set by the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).

Training sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Canterbury, with fixtures scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays, depending on the competition calendar.

The interview process will consist of an informal meeting followed by the delivery of a practical session.

 

Role Purpose

To plan, deliver and review high-quality coaching sessions that support the technical, tactical, physical, psychological and social development of academy players in line with the club’s player development programme.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, deliver and review coaching sessions in accordance with the academy’s coaching syllabus and philosophy.

· Support the holistic development of players within the assigned age group.

· Work collaboratively with the Head of Coaching, Phase Leads and multidisciplinary staff.

· Ensure all activities are delivered in line with EPPP standards and FA guidelines.

· Provide regular feedback on player development and contribute to player reviews.

· Maintain accurate session plans, player records and relevant academy documentation.

· Ensure that Kitman Labs/IP is regularly updated.

· Promote and maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and professional conduct.

· Represent the academy at fixtures, festivals and tournaments as required.

 

Remuneration

A competitive rate will be paid for this role.

 

About The Candidate

Person Specification

Essential

· UEFA B Licence (minimum qualification requirement).

· Current FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.

· Working towards, or in possession of, the FA Youth Award.

· In date EFAIF qualification.

· Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

· Strong understanding of safeguarding and welfare within youth football.

· Excellent communication and organisational skills.

· Ability to work evenings and weekends.
