About The Role

Preston North End Football Club are looking to recruit an individual with a passion for writing, excellent organisational skills and someone who is versatile, adaptable, and willing to capably lead on and assist with various tasks within the media team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the club's official website. 
 
Location 
You will be based at the First Team Training Ground, Euxton Lane, Euxton, Chorley, PR7 6FA, The role also requires you to travel to other Club operated premises including the stadium and various other locations nationwide to perform your matchday duties. 
 
Working Hours 
Your hours of work will be determined by the needs of the role but shall be a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. You may from time to time be required to work additional hours as is reasonable to meet the requirements of the Club's business. On occasions your role may necessitate longer hours than your contracted number. This will be kept to a minimum, but the hours are dictated by the responsibilities of the role.

Role and Responsibilities 
1. Assisting in various matchday media activities including live updates for the website's match centre and the writing and publishing of match reports. 
2. Conducting interviews with first team players management and club executives. 
3. Leading on a wide range of written content to be published on the club's website. 
4. Managing the Club's website day to day. 
5. Producing written content for the Club's matchday programme and liaising with contributors to assist with the editing and proofing process. 
6. Working closely with the Design Lead by briefing with any graphic requirements for the club's website. 
7. Form part of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion working group and work towards a bi-annual EDI code of practice. 
8. Act as a point of contact for other departments such as the ticket office, commercial, HR and Safeguarding departments. 
9. Support press operations which includes managing the matchday accreditation process for home games and liaising with journalists. 
10. Manage the club's photo archives. 
11. Assist with the planning and execution of larger scale campaigns including but not limited to kit launches, season card and ticket promotions. 
12. Work with the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team to promote and dedicate specific matchdays and non-matchdays to raise awareness and our commitment to Inclusion and anti-discrimination. 
13. Assist with the implementation of contractual marketing requirements and club created marketing initiatives. 
14. Ensure all communication is as Inclusive as possible, both internally and externally.

About The Candidate

Essential Core Experience and Skills required 
 
1. Strong knowledge of English Football - including the Championship. 
2. Good at adapting and working with time constraints and to deadlines. 
3. Strong writing skills and previous experience of writing about football. 
4. Experience in website management and confidence using a Content Management System. 
5. Ability to work well and collaborate as part of a team. 
 
Desirable requirements 
 
1. Sports Journalism Degree or equivalent.
