About The Role

Each Club which operates an Academy shall appoint a Head of Education who shall report to the Academy Manager and have responsibility for;

  • the organisation, management and delivery of the Club’s Education Programme
  • the oversight of the Scholar Education Programmes including attendance at educational programme meetings, ensuring adherence to such programmes and, where required, taking appropriate action in the event that targets are not met
  • ensuring that Scholars are appropriately managed and supported in respect of the ‘End Point Assessment’ on the sporting excellence professional apprenticeship (SEP)
  • the educational progression of all Academy Players registered with the Club (subject to the duties of any educational establishment at which an Academy Player’s education is taking place)
  • ensuring that the education of an Academy Player engaged on the Hybrid or Full Time Training Model is not prejudiced as a result of his being so engaged
  • ensuring all documents and records relating to the education of Academy Players
    required by these Rules are in place and up-to-date
  • undertake benchmarking of the educational progression of each year group of Academy
    Players engaged on the Hybrid and Full Time Training Models against national data, and
    make the result of that benchmarking available to the League
  • ensure that the Academy’s educational provision reflects the strategy and performance
    targets set out in the Club’s Academy Performance Plan
  • undertake Continued Professional Development organised by the Club

 

About The Candidate

The successful applicant will meet the following requirements:
  • hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) and
    have relevant experience (in the case of Category 1 and 2 Academies) or, as a minimum,
    possess a teaching qualification or further education teaching qualification (in the case of
    Category 3 and Category 4 Academies)
 
Chesterfield FC Academy is Category 4.
