About The Role

To provide administrative support to the Finance department, enabling payroll and pension information to be produced as and when required to the highest standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process new starter information into the payroll software
  • Collate and prepare monthly payroll information in liaison with all departments and HR/Business Administration where necessary
  • Enter monthly payroll information onto Sage Payroll in an accurate, compliant and timely manner
  • Produce accurate monthly payroll reports and files
  • Assist Finance Manager to prepare and submit all required payroll information to Banks/HMRC in required formats
  • Issue payslips and any other payroll documentation as required
  • Assist the Finance Manager to complete year end payroll returns, including P60 and P11d returns
  • Process P45 documents for departing employees
  • Process Monthly Pension submissions to pension providers on time
The role will be primarily payroll related but this role will also be expected to assist the Head of Accounting when required as per below;
  • Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Enter financial transactions onto the ledger with accuracy and timeliness
  • Process of purchase invoices, supplier payments and remittances
  • Prepare and post month-end journals such as prepayments and accruals
  • Deal with enquiries from external customers and suppliers and internal colleagues; ensuring that any queries are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner
  • Carry out other duties as are commensurate with the role

About The Candidate

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

  • AAT/ACCA Qualification (or studying towards) would be beneficial
  • Experience of working in payroll administration
  • Experience of using Microsoft office products (including Excel) with the use of Sage/a recognised accounting package desirable

SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
  • Demonstrated numeracy and analytical skills; focussed on delivering results
  • Able to work using own initiative and as a member of a team
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and be resilient
  • Effective communication skills with experience of communicating to management
