About The Role

The role is to provide Wrexham AFC Women with high level coaching, coach development and player development. Supporting the progression of the women’s first team contributing to a high performing team culture and the development of individual players. Ensuring the pathway is joined up to enable effective communication and delivery of the club’s playing and coaching philosophy and the smooth transition of talented players.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Head Coach with all women’s first team matters including planning, delivery and review of all training sessions.
  • Prepare for and attend all first team match days, discussing team selection, sharing tactical insights and delivering key roles in the warm up and in game.
  • Create and manage individual player IDP’s and hold regular meetings with players to review their performance.
  • Provide technical leadership to the girls academy ensuring the technical syllabus is delivered by coaches and providing coach development and mentoring activities.
  • Design and implement the Academies playing and coaching philosophy along with the Curriculum, ensuring alignment from U9s-Women’s Senior Team.
  • Direct the planning and delivery of coaching programmes, session structures, and match preparation across academy age groups.
  • Identify talented youth players for the academy, supporting coaches to monitor progress and provide feedback for players (with parents).
  • Lead on the development of elite individual programmes for high-potential players (including integration with senior women’s team).
  • Report on recruitment targets for the first team, providing technical insight inline with team priorities.
  • Work effectively as part of the MDT, utilising performance analysis tools to review individual and team performance from a technical, tactical, physical, social and wellbeing perspective.
  • Provide reports to senior leadership as required.
  • Share information with key partners, such as national coaches to support selection for national teams and/or individual player development.
  • Attend mandatory Club and FAW professional development activities.
  • All other duties commensurate with the job role.

About The Candidate

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • UEFA A Licence.
  • Significant experience in an elite football environment.
  • Previous experience working with girls and women.
  • Proven track record in player development and progression through pathways.
  • Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills.
  • Valid FAW/FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • Enhanced DBS clearance 

DESIRABLE

  • FA Youth Modules or similar.
  • Experience of the Adran Prem and/or English Tier 1-3
  • Knowledge of performance analysis tools such as HUDL

  • Adaptability to changing environment at short notice.
