Split role of Head of Education & Recruitment Analyst.

Responsible for: To lead and develop the Academy’s Education department in line with the clubs strategic objectives and EPPP. Also assist the recruitment of Academy Players and tracking and monitoring trialists.

Head of Education - Designated for 20 hours per week.

Recruitment Analyst  - Designated for 17.5 hours per week.

Academy Head of Education

Reporting to: Mark Moss – Academy Manager

Responsible for: To lead and develop the Academy’s Education department in line with the clubs strategic objectives and EPPP. Designated for 20 hours per week.

Location: County Ground

Key duties include but not limited to:

  • To uphold and live the Academy Values in and away from Swindon Town
  • Have responsibility for the organisation, management and delivery of the Clubs Education Programme.
  • Have responsibility for the oversight of the scholar education programmes including attendance at educational programme meetings, ensuring adherence to such programmes and, where required, taking appropriate action in the event that targets are not met.
  • Have responsibility for ensuring that scholars are appropriately managed and supported in respect of the ‘End Point Assessment’ on the SEP.
  • Create strategies and deliver intervention activities to enable players to reach their maximum educational attainment levels.
  • Create education reviews for individual players and organise meetings with both players and organise meetings with both players and parents to discuss educational attainment and behavioural concerns.
  • To work with third party suppliers to implement a Lifestyle Skills programme relevant to young players.
  • Support the creation of, and implementation of an appropriate welfare plan linked to the respective phases of development and training models.
  • To work with all departments of the Academy to ensure a Multi-Disciplinary Programme.
  • To manage the Education Support Fund budget to support the learners in all areas of learning.
  • Agreeing and achieving realistic targets for student recruitment and performance.
  • To encourage students to respect others and value their individuality.
  • Undertake continued professional development organised by the Club.

     

     

    Recruitment Analyst Role – designated for 17 hours per week

  • Organise and manage talent ID events, trials, open sessions and scouting opportunities. 
  • Work closely with age group coaches, Head of Recruitment and Academy Management Team, to identify players who fit the club's player profile and long-term development goals. 
  • Maintain up to date scouting reports and player tracking databases on the Notion App.  
  • Support with observations of games and training sessions to identify potential recruits.  
  • Liaise with external clubs, organisations and schools, to promote positive partnerships and facilitate player access.  
  • Collate and provide timely reports and updates to the Phase leads on talent identification efforts.  

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Level 5 qualification
  • DBS check
  • Relevant experience working within a football environment

Candidates must hold an up to date Safeguarding qualification.

 Playing and coaching experience at different clubs

  • Previous Teaching experience in a school.
  • Previous Teaching experience of a BTEC programme
  • Being a team player is essential and having a flexible approach to work
