Hull City are looking for an organised and engaging Professional Development Phase Physical Performance Coach, to join the Academy team based at Bishop Burton College.
Position Type: Permanent, Hull time working 37.5 hours per week (evenings and weekends may be required)
Location: Hull City Academy, Bishop Burton College
Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum
Closing Date: Friday 6th June 2025
First Stage interviews: 11th / 12th / 13th June 2025
Second stage interviews: 26th / 27th June 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver warm-ups, gym-based S&C, recovery, and injury prevention sessions for PDP players.
- Deliver individual physical development plans using performance data.
- Provide match day support including warm-ups, post-match conditioning, and nutrition strategies.
- Collaborate across the medical and science team in rehab, off-season planning, and performance reviews.
- Align with 1st Team practices through ongoing CPD sessions.
Monitoring & Screening:
- Use STATSports GPS for monitoring training loads and physical performance.
- Report training load data to stakeholders.
- Use of VALD equipment for both strength and power screening as well as regular fatigue monitoring.
- Implement screening protocols to track development across cycles.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with coaching and wider MDT staff (nutrition, psychology, player care, etc.) to support player development.
- Contribute to objective data-led player reviews.
- Actively collaborate with coaching staff to fully integrate Athletic Development into wider football programme.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong S&C delivery experience in sport.
- Excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in IT (PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI).
- Experience with STATSports, PMA/Kitman Labs, VALD beneficial.
- BSc in Sport/Exercise (Essential); MSc, UKSCA/BASES (Desirable or to be achieved in 6 months).
- DBS clearance required.
