About the Team:

Our Coaching Team are passionate about developing talent at all levels, from our youngest Academy members to the first team. Our holistic coaching philosophy emphasises technical skills, tactical awareness, mental resilience, and sportsmanship.

We prioritise open communication with players and their families, providing regular updates on training progress and development opportunities. Join us in elevating the standard of coaching at Sunderland AFC, where every player is encouraged to grow, excel, and love the game!

The Opportunity:

Plan, create, and evaluate coaching sessions in alignment with the weekly schedule, ensuring each session is purposeful and well-structured. Deliver training sessions with a clear focus on individual player development, tailoring content to meet specific needs and objectives. Provide impactful and constructive feedback to support each player's ongoing progression. Oversee trialists entering the environment, offering appropriate evaluation and feedback to inform decisions in line with the signing and exit policy. Throughout all planning, ensure that player retention remains a central priority.

About The Candidate

What We Ask For:

Maintain consistent and up-to-date communication with the Cell Lead to ensure alignment across all areas of player development. Regularly monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback on all players within the Shadow Group and Pre-Academy as part of the succession planning process. Commit to creating and sustaining a best-in-class environment that supports both player and staff development. Engage fully in all relevant meetings to contribute to collaborative progress. Identify areas for improvement and work closely with the Academy Senior Management Team and Multi-Disciplinary teams to meet and enhance the required performance standards.
