About The Role

Job Title: Head of Coach Development

Reporting to: Academy Manager and Assistant Academy Manager

Responsible for:     Senior PDP Coach, Lead PDP Coach, PDP Coach, Lead YDP Coach, Lead FP Coach and all part time coaches.

Contract: Full Time Permanent, subject to 3 months probationary period

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Meadow Lane Stadium and Training Venues

As Head of Coach Development at Notts County FC Academy, you will work within an innovative Academy at a League Two Football Club, to deliver the Academy’s Coach Development Strategy, shaping the development of all full and part time coaches on a collective and individual basis.

Key responsibilities

1. To ensure that the Academy Player Development Strategy is being correctly implemented within all phases.

2. Be a lead figure and mentor for the Full-Time and Part-Time Academy Coaches, by supporting them with all aspects of coaching, as well as shaping their development both on and off the football pitch.

3. There will be key administrative tasks involved within the role, meeting all required EFL and PGAAC criteria, whilst supporting the administration and HR aspects of the Academy for the coaching department.

4. To develop the Club Specific Coach Competency Framework (CCF).

5. Be responsible for conducting coach reviews to aid feedback on their performance.

6. To ensure coaches have ongoing and up to date Development Action Plans.

7. To have an understanding of the needs of all Academy departments and to be a key member of the Academy Management Team.

8. To take an active role in the safeguarding of all Academy players.

About The Candidate

Knowledge and Experience

1. Has achieved FA Advanced Youth Award.

2. Has achieved UEFA A Licence.

3. Has undertaken the EHOC course (not essential).

4. Has experience working in at least a Category 3 Academy.

5. Experience using the Football Intelligence Platform.

6. Experience working under and a knowledge of EPPP guidelines.

7. Valid FA DBS or willing to undertake a DBS check before starting the role.
