U16 Age Group Coach in Newport - EFL (English Football League)

Summary

Newport County AFC Academy is seeking a part-time U16 Age Group Coach to deliver its coaching syllabus and support player development within the Youth Development Phase. The role offers a key opportunity to contribute to the Academy’s training and games programme, with support from the Phase Lead and Head of Coaching.

Role Responsibilities & Key Duties
1 Promote Newport County AFC values and ensure a respectful, safe, and engaging learning environment.
2 Plan, deliver, and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the Academy syllabus and framework.
3 Record session plans and player attendance using the Football Intelligence Platform (Football iP).
4 Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff including sports science, analysis, medical, and coaching teams.
5 Adhere to all Club policies, including Equality & Diversity, Health & Safety, and Safeguarding.
6 Follow the Coaches Code of Conduct at all times.
7 Maintain and care for all training equipment used by the age group.
8 Support player recruitment and trials when required.
9 Complete and submit Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and performance reviews every 6-12 weeks.
10 Attend weekend fixtures and Academy meetings as needed.
11 Undertake ongoing CPD in line with EFL requirements.
12 Provide timely feedback to Phase Leads or Academy Management.
13 Carry out any other duties as directed by the Academy Manager or Phase Lead.
