About the role

We are seeking a Head of Recruitment to oversee the department by identifying, assessing, and securing players who align with the club’s objectives. The role will combine advanced data analytics, video analysis, and traditional scouting methods to assemble a squad capable of meeting the club’s goals. We are seeking a visionary leader with outstanding management abilities, in-depth football expertise, and the drive to challenge and innovate.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a recruitment model which is aligned with the Club's overall vision, strategic plan and budgetary objectives.
  • Provide regular updates in formalised meetings to the First Team Manager and Director of Football.
  • Ensure appropriate squad succession planning is in place, in line with the Club’s overall vision and playing philosophy.
  • Lead the scouting structure and workflow with regular meetings.
  • Encourage use of data-driven insights and innovative technology into the recruitment process, ensuring informed decision-making.
  • Identify value-driven, high-potential recommendations that could improve the quality and value of the first team squad over time.
  • Initiate negotiations with players and their representatives regarding transfers and contracts, working closely with the Director of Football.
  • Regularly assess the existing squad structure and provide recommendations on retention, loan moves, and potential sales.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with players, agents, other clubs, and key stakeholders within the football industry.

About The Candidate

Education/Qualifications/Training:

  • FA – Talent ID Level qualifications

    Desirable criteria

  • Proven experience in a senior recruitment role within professional football.
  • Strong knowledge of the football industry, including player markets and talent pathways.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform recruitment decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and secure key signings
  • Experience managing budgets and delivering financial sustainability
  • Oversee the recruitment team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities
  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal)
