Who We Are:
The Club
Swindon is the Hub of football for all of Wiltshire, being the only professional team in the entire County.
Founded in 1879, we entered the footballing world with the name Swindon AFC, soon becoming Spartans and finally Swindon Town FC in 1883. The club turned professional in 1894 as a founder of the southern league and competed in the then Western League.
Fall forward many years to recent history and the club has enjoyed many high moments through lifting the EFL Trophy with Don Rogers, competing in European Competitions in the 1970’s to gaining promotion to the Premier league in the early 1990’s.
Winning ways continued through the 2000’s with League wins in 2012 and 2020.
The club recognises community and local people as a key factor in its success, reflected in our values of Industry, Adventure and Humility.
The Academy
Our Academy has been dedicated to helping young individuals unlock their maximum potential as people and players for many years.
We are a highly ambitious Academy, holding Category 3 status, with vision to continuously grow our programme and how we aid youth development across various disciplines.
.
As an Academy, we believe in the key values of the football club through Industry, Adventure and Humility. Operating in a values driven environment that empowers development.
Why Swindon
