Swindon Town Academy are seeking a Full-time Foundation Phase Lead Coach to manage and deliver an elite programme to players from age 9 to 12. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a passion for the development of young children in all aspects at this key age in their development as people and young players. An ability to link the clubs foundation phase and youth development phase will be a key requirement for the successful candidate and works consistently to the clubs Academy values and instills these within all those around them.
Location: Based primarily at the County Ground Academy Offices, Swindon and the club training grounds, New College Swindon, Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.
Key duties include but not limited to:
- To be responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of the Foundation phase U9-U12 age groups coaching programme for the football club.
- To manage and oversee all operational aspects of the youth development phase working with the coaches within this to plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions via Kitman.
- Communicate professionally with parents, players and staff on a regular basis.
- Maintain an open, multi-disciplinary approach to your daily tasks and liaise frequently with sports science, medical, player care, education, goalkeeping and recruitment.
- To be innovative and creative with the youth development phase coaching and games programme in line with the academy values.
- Develop and maintain a positive learning environment to maximise each players learning potential including new players into the academy.
- Organise and maintain a challenging games programme for all youth development age groups.
- Ensure all age groups IDP’s are kept up to date and age group coaches maintain an MDT focus across the weeks coaching and games programme.
- Organise, conduct and oversee the multidisciplinary reviews every 6/12 weeks.
- Demonstrate impeccable touchline behaviour and take a lead on ensuring the same from staff and spectators
- Lead departmental and induction evenings for players, parents and staff.
- Attend and maintain relevant CPD hours in line with the EFL/FA Guidelines.
- To be available for all relevant meetings.
- To adhere to the football clubs safeguarding policies and procedures.
