About The Role
Job Title: Senior Youth Development Phase Coach
 
Department: Academy Coaching
 
Based at: BRFC Academy, BB6 8BA. However, flexibility regarding location is required.
 
Reports to: Head of Academy Coaching
 
Responsible for: All Part time Coaching Staff
 
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties. This will include regular evening and weekend work.
 
Contractual status: Permanent
 
Job purpose: To oversee, monitor and support the individual development of players and part time coaches in the Youth Development Phase (YDP), reporting into the Head of Academy Coaching (HOC) and Head of Academy.
 
Duties and responsibilities:
• To be committed to ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of all staff, players and stakeholders of the Club;
• Work across the phase age groups with individuals, teams and coaches implementing varied Academy strategies to ensure players can transition through into the Professional Development Phase (PDP) and into our First Team;
• Monitor the delivery of the coaching programme within the phase and provide support to the HOC in continually developing this;
• Drive and manage the football technical meetings that will be held on a regular basis for the YDP;
• Support the HOC in monitoring and implementing the key department KPI’s for Coaching;
• Alongside Senior Academy Management staff, be fundamental to the decision making process on player pathway, transition and trialists; and
• Manage and implement the Academy appraisal process for the part time coaches within the phase, feeding back to the Academy HOC.
• Develop a vast amount of knowledge of each individual player within the phase and continually monitor/evaluate their long term potential to support the decision making process;
• Deliver coaching and support players across the phase;
• Drive the YDP individualised programme/ILO’s and work with the players on a flexible basis around these;
• Manage the action plans of YDP players that are devised from the players IDT’s;
• Manage the integration and assessment of trialists who come into the phase;
• Support the Senior Academy staff in squad/team selections with Academy Coaches to ensure there is opportunities and pathway for players;
• Manage and support the additional “Technical Programme” for players in the YDP;
• Manage and implement the 8x weekly football technical meetings with the Head of Academy and Academy HOC; 
• Support the Recruitment Dept. in the identifying and assessment of Academy trialists;
• Game observations across the phase and any other additional match support; and
• Support the ILO Programme in the PDP.
• Support the Academy HOC with the phase specific CPD Programme;
• Manage and deliver the Coaching Competency Framework (CCF) Programme for part time coaches feeding back to the Academy HOC;
• 1x observation / CCF Feedback to the PT coaches every 8wks – feeding back to the Academy HOC;
• Provide general support to coaches across the phase; and
• Monitor coach usage of the various software packages (Hudl / FiP)

Knowledge required:
• Effective management and development of young players in a professional youth system
• Good knowledge of the game and understands what is required for players to play at the highest levels of the game;
• Good knowledge of Safeguarding/child protection policies and procedures;
• Knowledge of the Academy legislation in relation to player development;
• Knowledge of various training models within the Academy;
• Curriculums for varying age groups through the Academy system;
• Knowledge of player development models and the key strategies and methods to implement these for young players;
• Knowledge of developing a player development model, which is drawn down from senior level into the Academy system; and
• Knowledge of specific attributes that players require to transition within an Academy system, linked to Talent ID. 
About The Candidate
Essential:
 
• UEFA A Licence;
• Youth Modules 1-3 and Assessment;
• FA AYA (or working towards);
• FA Safeguarding; and
• FA First Aid.
 
Desirable:
 
• Playing Experience (Professional Level)
• Pro - Licence
 
DBS check required: Yes (Enhanced)
