Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and experienced individual to fulfil the role of Safety Manager at Leyton Orient Football Club. This position is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of all spectators, staff, and assets within the stadium premises, additional to be responsible for all crowd safety measures on a matchday, leading the safety operation. The successful candidate will oversee safety protocols, and coordinate crowd control measures during events held at the stadium.
Specific Duties
Develop and maintain the requirements of:• Stadium Safety Certificate and Safety and Security Operations Manual• Health and Safety at Work legislation• Fire Safety Legislation• All Safety at Sports Grounds legislation.
Responsibilities:
Crowd Safety:• Develop crowd management plans for events, ensuring efficient ingress and egress and minimising potential risks.• Collaborate with event organizers, security personnel, medical professionals, SGSA,local authority and law enforcement to maintain safety and security during events.• Monitor crowd behaviour and address any disturbances or safety concerns swiftly and effectively.• Collaborate with other departments, including operations, security, and event management, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of activities.• Conduct risk assessments for all stadium activities and events, identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities. • Implement measures to mitigate identified risks, such as crowd control barriers,evacuation procedures, and security protocols.• Book and manage all matchday resources, including staff and equipment for all events at the stadium.• Manage and oversee budgets relating to crowd safety.
Security:• Manage security within the stadium on a day-to-day basis, including liaising with security contractors about security measures.• Work within a team that respond to alarm call outs where necessary.• Ensure the stadium is safe and secure on a day-to-day basis.
Heath & Safety:• To continually develop, monitor and review health, safety and security policies,procedures, and guidance.• To monitor and manage health and safety training across the business to promote,develop and sustain a positive health and safety awareness culture.• To provide effective health, safety and security advice and guidance.• To record and investigate all accidents and near misses.• To assist with the implementation of any new and existing requirements of legislation and guidance from relevant authorities.• To audit all operations to ensure compliance with current health and safety law and promote a safe working environment.• To carry out risk assessments, produce method statements and safe working procedures for Club activities.• To compile reports and make recommendations for improvements where appropriate.• Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and incidents,maintaining open communication channels with stakeholders.
